SFM Foundation |

Please consider volunteering your time to the SFM Foundation as it strives to make its first year a success and have a positive impact on students pursuing careers in the foodservice industry. Volunteer commitment will involve conference call attendance, as well as occasional project work. Please email Vincenzo Nelli at vnelli@ahint.com with your interest.
If you would like to support the SFM Foundation with your time and talent, volunteers are now being sought for the following committees:
Scholarships Committee
Purpose: To assist in the development and implementation of scholarship programs for both high school and college level students. A high school scholarship program is currently in place but one needs to be developed for college students.
State Committees
Purpose: This committee works closely with state C-CAP and ProStart programs for student outreach. Support includes job shadowing programs and internships. This committee seeks to expand its reach nationwide and is working to develop a plan that can be easily implemented across the country.
Onsite Class Program Committee
Purpose: This committee strives to enhance and support the development of SFM-funded college classes in onsite foodservice. Goals include developing a tracking system that allows the Foundation to follow the careers of the participating students.
National Conference Student Program Committee
Purpose: To develop a selection process and assist with marketing and logistics of student attendance at SFM’s National Conference. This committee also seeks to develop a structure or agenda for the students during the conference so they receive the maximum benefit from the experience.
Special Event Fundraising Committee
Purpose: The planning and support of non-conference related events, to include existing golf tournament, Schmooze Cruise, and the development of new ideas and locations for fundraising events.
Conference Fundraising Committee
Purpose: To develop creative ideas to generate funds in conjunction with the SFM National Conference. Due to this year’s Montreal conference location, the annual Silent Auction will instead be conducted online and this committee will manage that process.
