AMBASSADORS NEEDED!
The Women's Council is organizing ambassadors for all new members and first time attendees at the national conference during their reception. We would like to invite our veteran members to be an Ambassador!

During the New Member/First-Time Attendee reception, the "ambassadors" will be assigned to a new member or conference first-timer. Your job will be to introduce them to people at the Opening Reception immediately following this event. The objectives of this program are two fold: to make the new SFMer's feel welcome and to highlight the SFM programs, networking and volunteer opportunities.

Please contact Maggie Stefanek ( MStefanek@corporatedining.com ) to participate as an SFM Ambassador.

LeadershipLink Webinar
What's Wrong with Thinking About What's Wrong? Merrilee Olson-Axtell, Certified Assessments Coach Online Webinar (4:00 p.m. ET, 3:00 p.m. CT, 2:00 p.m. MT, 1:00 p.m. PT)

You've probably heard this before: "That which you focus on you attract." Focus on not having enough hours in the day and you won't, focus on your own shortcomings (or the shortcomings of others) and they'll overwhelm your days with fix-it items. Thinking about what's wrong attracts more - it's simply true. Conversely, thinking about what's right does exactly the same thing — it attracts more!

How would your day be if you knew how to apply the secrets of the most vital, productive and powerful leaders? Join us to learn how to unleash the energy of strengths-based focus. Understanding your strengths can help you make better choices, be far more productive, and increase your self-confidence; the three foundations of inspiring leadership at any level.

In this webinar you will:

1. Discover resources for identifying your own strengths — and guess what, most people have no idea what their true strengths are.
2. Distinguish between skill-based strengths and innate talent-based strengths — and know why that's important.
3. Learn 3 techniques for shifting from "what's wrong thinking" to "what's right thinking."

ENHANCING YOUR CAREER IN A COMPETITIVE WORLD — ENJOYING COLLABORATIVE COMPETITION™ AND FORMING PACING PARTNERS™
Kathryn Mayer, KC Mayer Consulting, Inc.
New York, NY (Jacob Javits Center during the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show)
This program explores a woman's mindset around competition and career development and enjoyment. The hypothesis this highly interactive session explores is that being competitive in a healthy way is critical to career advancement and that the more you can be comfortable with and enjoy competition, the more likely you will be to achieve your career goals. Kathryn Mayer shows you how to make competition an easy and playful event that will earn you respect in a hostile work environment without the stress that often creates burn-out and joylessness. You will participate in self-exploration and small group exercises and learn from research of highly successful women in competitive professions as to how they practice a new approach to competition: Collaborative Competition™ and Pacing Partners™.

Ms. Mayer's vision of competition offers clients a strategy to maximize the value of their greatest asset–human capital–to the fullest potential by building on strengths and through collaboration, developing areas that need improvement. Collaborative Competition™ is founded on the principle that competition is first and foremost an opportunity to learn, evolve and excel–and it can be an enjoyable experience. It engages individuals in competition as a collaborative experience that fosters growth and advancement as well as teamwork and company loyalty. The Collaborative Competition™ mindset shows individuals how to leverage their competitive advantage.
