WOMEN'S COUNCIL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENTWORKSHOP
"Enhancing Your Career in a Competitive World
Enjoying Collaborative Competition™ and Forming Pacing Partners™"

This program explores women's mindset around competition and career development and enjoyment. The hypothesis this highly interactive session explores is that being competitive in a healthy way is critical to career advancement and that the more you can be comfortable with and enjoy competition, the more likely you will be to achieve your career goals. Kathryn Mayer shows you how to make competition an easy and playful event that will earn you respect in a hostile work environment without the stress that often creates burn-out and joylessness. You will participate in self-exploration and small group exercises and learn from research of highly successful women in competitive professions as to how they practice a new approach to competition: Collaborative Competition™ and Pacing Partners™.

Ms. Mayer's vision of competition offers clients a strategy to maximize the value of their greatest asset–human capital–to the fullest potential by building on strengths and through collaboration, developing areas that need improvement. Collaborative Competition™ is founded on the principle that competition is first and foremost an opportunity to learn, evolve and excel–and it can be an enjoyable experience. It engages individuals in competition as a collaborative experience that fosters growth and advancement as well as teamwork and company loyalty. The Collaborative Competition™ mindset shows individuals how to leverage their competitive advantage.

LeadershipLink WEBINAR "WINNING AT YOUR GAME" RECAP
The SFM Women's Council held the LeadershipLink Webinar titled: "Winning at Your Game" on September 12 facilitated by Kristen Goodman, Ph.D. Over 35 participants registered for the web cast and telephone conference.

Kristen discussed different ways that people approach challenges in their professional and personal lives. She discussed that achieving success depends greatly on two things: considering the consequences of not attaining an identified goal and envisioning the rewards of accomplishing the goal. Kristen also shared using a "scorecard" as a tool to monitor one's progress.

Special thanks to Kristen Armstrong, of Kristen Armstrong & Associates, and C4 Collaborative for helping bring this program to SFM and its membership.

Recognition also goes to the Webinar sponsors for their support:
